Shipping Restrictions

As with any international parcel delivery, there will be restrictions and prohibitions on certain items being shipped. It?s important to be aware of the restriction and prohibition laws in Lithuania when it comes to sending your parcel. With the correct information, you?ll be safe in the knowledge that the parcel you are sending is not going to be intercepted by customs.

The usual suspects with regards to prohibition laws are both infectious and non-infectious biological substances, radioactive materials and narcotics. These are all prohibited in Lithuania.

All forms of weaponry including those meant for hunting or sport are forbidden and explosives or other combustible materials also cannot be shipped.

Coins, valuable items and various other forms of currency are prohibited with all classes of post.

Customs in Lithuania will claim any item they deem poses a potential threat to postal employees. They will also intercept a package that could potentially cause harm to surrounding packages. Any article that displays immoral images or writings will be seized by customs.

Animals, animal products, vegetable products, oil seeds, miscellaneous grains, plants, straw and fodder, beverages, spirits and vinegar are all prohibited. Minerals, mineral oils and fuels, chemicals, fertilisers and pharmaceutical products are not allowed.

Items with cultural value, such as artwork, ornaments or antiques must have a permit from the Ministry of Culture's Department of the Protection of Objects of Cultural Value.

Electronic equipment capable of emitting radio waves must be approved by the National Electrical Equipment and Communications Inspectorate.

Parcels that contain sugar must not exceed a 5kg limit.
